Hey my loves, HAPPY NEW MONTH!!! I’m excited to be back to the blogging world… For those who didn’t know, I sent out a newsletter in August, saying I was taking a break.
PS: If you’re still not subscribed, I’m wondering why not. I’ll suggest you do, so you never miss out on any update!!!
Hope you’ve been doing well and life hasn’t been too hard on you since I left? Anyway, I’m here now, lol 😂😂😂
I was hoping taking this break will be a way for me to relax a little and get my mojo back but life took a little twist. This past month has been my most stressful and emotionally draining…all round, my expectation didn’t match my reality.
Here is a brief summary of my life lately and how these past months have been, as well as what I did while I wasn’t blogging.
• THE MONTH OF JULY
MY LAGOS TRIP
The hubby got an admission to do his masters in Italy so we went to Lagos to apply for a visa for him and for also me to accompany him. It was my first time in Lagos and It was a really short stay but I enjoyed it a lot.
We stayed in this beautiful hotel for a night and I loved the view and the room was simply breathtaking!!
• THE MONTH OF AUGUST
OUR HIGH SCHOOL 10 YEARS REUNION
So in August my hubby and I went for our 10th-year high school reunion, it was okay I guess. I saw some old friends so that was good. We also went to the wedding of one of our old classmates from that set.
SEEING AN EX AFTER 7 YEARS
By the way, did I mention I saw an ex from high school that I hadn’t seen in 7 years? I didn’t mention? Well, I saw him, at the reunion. Felt really weird because I really wasn’t expecting to see him there…A story for another day 😂😂
VISA APPLICATION STORY
Alright, so I told you we went to Lagos to apply for visas in July right? Turns out we skipped an important step and a lot of documents necessary for getting the visa, thank God though, the embassy let us know so we spent a very stressful week getting all the necessary documents ready and sending them over.
NOT GETTING MY VISA
Shortly after all this, I got my passport back, we were actually expecting our passports to come together but mine came alone, still, we were excited! We opened it and… No visa! Turns out I wasn’t given a visa.
FINDING OUT THAT I MIGHT HAVE GLAUCOMA
As if I hadn’t gotten enough bad news I went with my hubby to renew his prescription at the eye clinic and decided to check my eyes as well, guess what… The doctor thinks I have traces of Glaucoma and now I have to go do a Glaucoma work up to confirm and gauge the level so I can start treating it.
GETTING MY FIRST MEDICATED GLASSES
Oh and apparently I also need glasses! I just escorted the hubby for his eyes and came out with glasses and a possible Glaucoma diagnosis.
PS: Check out this video I made on IGTV when I picked up my glasses Here
• THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER
PREPARING FOR BEA TO LEAVE
Some days after I got my passport back with no visa, Bea eventually got his back and he got the visa. So now it was time to go shopping and help him pack for his trip. We spent almost every single day going out or packing his things, it literally felt like there was no time to rest because he had only about 2 weeks to travel.

MOVING OUT OF OUR APARTMENT
Now our next year’s rent was almost due but since the new plan was for me to apply to join him over there once he got there, we didn’t see any reason to renew the rent for another year. This means while packing his things we also had to pack up the house and my things… I was going to move in with my parents for the meantime. So as you can imagine it was really stressful.
ADJUSTING TO MY NEW REALITY
Bea left on Sunday the 8th, around 2 am and I miss him already. I’m now in my parent’s place adjusting to this new life.
One more thing… I was almost done working on this blog but it was like the month said “hold on, I’m not done with you yet” and then my perfectly good phone stopped working.
Here’s what happened (Grab your popcorn 🍿)… My charger was having some issues so I went to get a new charger. While I was there, the guy was trying different chargers to see which one would charge my phone fast enough. Then all of a sudden… my phone went off! I turned it back on, but every time we plugged in a charger it went off again.
At this point, I started panicking because my phone is my office, so I took it to a repair shop beside the store I was in and they told me what they thought was wrong. They also said they have to take the phone somewhere close by to buy what they’ll need to fix it.
So I let one of them go and waited with another at the shop. Turns out this guy went somewhere much farther and left my phone at that place for them to repair without telling me. Long story short, this was on a Friday and I let the phone stay till Monday because they said it will be ready by then.
Brethren, on Monday I went to the repair shop to pick up my phone because they called and said they had brought it back from the other place.
Guess what… My phone was now a desktop!! It would only come on if it was plugged but would go off if the plug was removed. The exact opposite of the previous issue!
Anyway, let me cut the story here, in the end though, my phone still hasn’t been repaired, so that’s something I have to figure out now.
GETTING BACK TO BLOGGING AND CREATING CONTENT
I haven’t been feeling like it but I’m really trying to push myself to get back to blogging and creating useful content for you guys, I’m hoping that once I start everything will start feeling a bit normal and I’ll feel a lot better.
So that’s it, that’s what my life lately has been like for these past few months, despite all the sadness and bad news I’m still grateful to God for the things that went right. Me being alive, hubby getting the admission, the visa and arriving safely(even though I miss him 😪). I’m grateful for the fact that I have caring parents that I can stay with for the meantime, I’m grateful that I went to the eye clinic when I did, to find out that I need to really examine my eyes for Glaucoma and I’m grateful for you reading this right now. You make it worth it to sit down and create this content…
How has your past few months been, I’ll like to know. Did you enjoy reading this post? Tell me all in the comments below. What are you grateful for?
